With Pete Carroll having been removed as head coach, Seahawks assistants have been told they are free to pursue other jobs.
One candidate to keep an eye on is offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, who’s at least generating some interest at the same level of his current job. According to Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the Saints have requested an interview with Waldron for their open offensive coordinator position.
The #Saints requested permission to interview #Seahawks OC Shane Waldron for their vacant OC job, source said. That’s three candidates thus far.

New Orleans actually wound up averaging 23.6 points per game this season – more than two points over what the Seahawks averaged. Like Seattle, the Saints finished the season 9-8 and missed the playoffs.
Waldron has gotten interest from at least one other team, as well. Last week it was reported the Chicago Bears requested an interview for their open OC job, as well.
