This NFL offseason has already seen some of the sport’s biggest names shakeup the free agency and sports betting markets. Those holding a 60-1 ticket for a Tampa Bay Super Bowl victory were rewarded with the news of Tom Brady’s un-retirement, but Packers backers took a punch in the gut Thursday after learning that returning QB Aaron Rodgers would be without one of his favorite targets, as Davante Adams now heads to Las Vegas to reunite with Derek Carr.
One of the bigger unanswered questions, however, surrounds Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson, as a trade now appears imminent.
Current NFL odds list the New Orleans Saints (-200) as the most likely final destination for the QB, with the Atlanta Falcons (+150) also making a strong case to secure the services of the former Clemson star.
Carolina and Detroit sit further down the list, and at this point appear to be out of the running all together.
While odds are only available for these four teams at the moment, interest has come from franchises. According to sources, the Cleveland Browns were so invested in attempting to bring in a new signal caller that current starting QB Baker Mayfield took to social media to demand a trade.
Upon learning that his team had developed eyes for another apparently ruffled Mayfield’s feathers so much that he publicly expressed that allowing him to move on would be in the “mutual interest of both sides.”
As of now, it appears that the Browns have no desire to release Mayfield, who has expressed his own wishes to join the Colts. Betting odds on Baker Mayfield’s Week 1 team have also been posted, with his preferred Colts leading the pack at +150, with Seattle following close behind at +200. Do note that this particular wagering option specifies that this only sees action if he does not stay with the Browns.
