Things hardly went the Saints’ way on Sunday as the team recorded a 26-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the largest loss in terms of total margin of the season so far.
Outside of that, the Saints had kept it in the reach of single points in games that came down to the wire.
In what was still a respectable defensive performance and a continuously unimpressive offensive outing, here’s a look at what fans and analysts had to say across social media about the Saints’ performance:
As brutal of an offensive performance as I can remember.

Just wrapped up a 1 hour postgame livestream and Pete Carmichael is still the Saints' offensive coordinator? pic.twitter.com/Mfwg6shRR8

Damn Shame. #Saints pic.twitter.com/s0j8zgSnid

The #Saints are not winning a damn thing until Dennis Allen and Pete Carmichael are gone.
— TJAY Jones (@tjayjones8) October 1, 2023
Honestly, what do the Dennis Allen-led Saints do well? And you can't say get on our nerves. That's a given.

The Saints gambled that Derek Carr could fix their issues on offense carrying over from last year and they lost. At what point do they admit it?

Pete Carmichael is the most frustrating part of the #Saints team.
Started off the season okay, but that's because team's didn't have film on his tendencies. I complained last year he was really bad at breaking his tendencies in a game.
Think of it like going into "panic" mode…

In Baker’s debut against the Saints rivalry he throws 3 TD’s and officially owns New Orleans. Plant the flag.

The #Saints had Ronald Curry (Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach) call multiple games in the preseason.
Carmichael has been up and down. I'm curious how much influence Curry has, and, how he could get more. https://t.co/hIhirlsFPg

You got yourself hype over a Dennis Allen and Pete Carmichael team again. YOU did. ⚜️ pic.twitter.com/sX4mNMjHuZ

You're telling me Eric Bieniemy has put up 24 points with SAM HOWELL as his quarterback ON THE ROAD and the Saints really brought Pete Carmichael back? pic.twitter.com/AjutumGKRJ

The #Saints are not winning a damn thing until Dennis Allen and Pete Carmichael are gone.

Looking into my crystal ball and predicting Pete Carmichael will be telling us next Thursday that he's got to be better and it's on him
— Luke Johnson (@ByLukeJohnson) October 1, 2023
Dear @Saints,
P.S. fire Pete Carmichael. pic.twitter.com/mPvTU04gjj

i want to put pete carmichael in a human zoo running 3 yard slant routes until he resigns
— SPORTS DRINK (@SprtsDrnk) October 1, 2023
How did Pete Carmichael watch Sean Payton and Drew Brees do this for 15 years & draw this garbage up?

A Pete Carmichael Offense faces a Matt House Defense and that's how you create a Quantum Singularity
— Billy Gomila (@BillyGomila) October 1, 2023
pete carmichael has no situational awareness , it’s embarrassing
— Trace (@yfntrace) October 1, 2023
pete carmichael still calling deep shots on 3rd and 5 , get this man off my team
— Trace (@yfntrace) October 1, 2023
Pete Carmichael has been confirmed as a bad OC. There's no jameis or dalton excuse. He can't call plays. Now either DA can fix it or he's gone.
Loomis gave DA everything he wanted. If it doesn't work out it's on him
— Freaking about Football (@FreakyPeezy) October 1, 2023
I seriously question if Pete Carmichael can continue to be the offensive coordinator. His playcalling is so predictable
— Matt Miguez ⚜️ (@MiguezMatt) October 1, 2023
This is a weekly tweet it feels like. I don’t see how u watch this almost every week and think Pete Carmichael can continue as OC https://t.co/QK9VVetD0G

Pete Carmichael’s offense has not scored over 21 points since before Thanksgiving of last year
