Sainsbury's Tu clothing fans praise supermarket for inclusive influencer post

Sainsbury's Tu Clothing recently shared a post on their Instagram account which featured LGBTQIA fashion influencer, Ben Pechey. As a result fans of both the influencer and Sainsbury's have been praising the supermarket.

Ben Pechey is an influencer who uses the pronouns they/them. The photo was posted both on Tu Clothing and Ben Pechey’s feed.

Tu Clothing captioned the post: "Brighten up your wardrobe with a yellow poplin shirt like @benpechey. The key to layering this summer."

Ben also promoted the clothing on his own accounts. In the post, he said: "Here’s Tu a summer of taking time for myself. @Tuclothing have got the perfect summer clothes to help you relax and recharge after a busy pride season. Gorgeous pieces at affordable prices! So pack your new book, throw on your best light layers, and enjoy this summer! #HeresTusummer."

Followers of both accounts praised the collaboration. @domandink commented under Ben’s post ‘Love this collab so cuteeeee’, whilst @josephinedervish wrote ‘love these pieces!’.

Reaction comments under Tu Clothing’s post include @the_mermaid_ball who wrote ‘love this. Well done Sainsbury's for showing inclusivity for everyone xx’. @devanangharad added: "I saw the nautical dress the other day, but wasn’t sure how I could style it- thank you."

The post showed two outfits that Ben modelled - both a floral skirt paired with a bright yellow top and the second photo saw them sporting a monochrome jumper dress.

Addressing some of the comments that opposed the positive reactions to Sainsbury’s inclusive choice to use Ben as a model, @lisahrh said: "Love this. Some of the comments on here r disgusting."

While another fan, @elliegled added: "No need for all the horrible comments. If you don't like it just scroll on. Those comments say more about you as a person than anything else."
