Sainsbury's has expanded the range of products discounted with its Nectar Prices initiative. Discounts are now available on staples such as milk, cheese, butter, bread, cakes and wraps but only available to Nectar customers.
The scheme works like Tesco's Clubcard. Cathedral City mature cheese is usually £4.75 but its Nectar Price is £2.75, Philadelphia cheese is usually £2.20 but its Nectar Price is £1, Yeo Valley organic semi-skimmed milk is usually £2 but its Nectar Price is £1 and Lurpak 500g butter is usually £5 but priced at £3.25 for those with a Nectar Card. Soreen fruit loaf is usually £1.50 but a £1 with a Nectar card and Warburtons bagels are normally £1.85 but the Nectar Price is £1.
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Carrot Cake is usually £3 but its Nectar Price is £2, Sainsbury’s folded flatbreads are usually £1.35 but 35p cheaper with Nectar Price and by Sainsbury’s plain tortilla wraps (usually £1.20, Nectar Price £1).
The change means there are now over 900 products available through Nectar Prices both online and in stores.
Sainsbury's said: "The expansion means Sainsbury’s now has over 900 products included in Nectar Prices, spanning a wide range of categories including health and beauty, confectionery and snacking, beers, wines and spirits, household, baby and pet and food cupboard items, as well as the latest addition of dairy and bakery.
"Products will continue to be added to Nectar Prices, ensuring all Nectar customers get great value on a wide range of items all-year round."
