Easter is just around the corner and supermarkets are busy stocking delicious seasonal products. Store shelves everywhere are filled with weird and wonderful chocolate eggs and gorgeous hot cross buns as customers prepare for Sunday, April 17.
Sainsbury's is just one of the many big chains to release its range for Easter 2022, but one product in particular is sure to divide shoppers. The store has launched Carrots & Chocolate Flavoured Houmous. Yes, you read that right.
The on-the-go snack comes with carrot batons and a dip made from cooked chickpeas, golden syrup, sesame seed paste, cocoa powder and concentrated lemon juice.

A description from Sainsbury's reads: "A houmous with a difference! This delicious Carrots and Chocolate Houmous comes packed with indulgent chocolatey goodness. Part of the On-The-Go range, this vegan friendly snack will also be included in our £3.50 meal deal."
The Carrots & Chocolate Flavoured Houmous, which is part of the store's Easter Bunny Snacks, can be bought as part of a meal deal for a lunch with a twist, or customers can pick it up for just £1.
The product launched on March 7 in stores alongisde other spring offerings from Sainsbury’s, including quirky Easter eggs and novelty slabs. Hero products include the lovable The Yolkers novelty eggs, which come in two varieties – white with pink lips and milk with an orange moustache, as well as our Berry Biscuit and Cookies and Cream Front Loaded eggs.
Other products include the Sainsbury’s Hot Cross Bun Kit and the Sainsbury’s Speckled Egg Brownie Kit, both £2.50.
Sainsbury's said: "Make your Easter sweeter than ever with our Speckled Egg Brownie Kit. Loaded with chocolate eggs, this is the ultimate Easter centrepiece – an 'eggstra' special treat for the whole family to enjoy."
What's more, all of the Sainsbury's own brand Easter eggs are now plastic free, which has seen the store remove 4.6 tonnes of plastic from its range.
