A supermarket has hiked the price of its butter by 40 pence in the last week.
Our weekly comparison of basics like bread and milk has been keeping track of prices since March.
While last week rises seemed to be slowing down - and mince prices refreshingly dropping - this week's biggest increase will come as a shock to most shoppers.
Sainsbury's has put a 22.8% increase on its 250g block of butter, taking it from £1.75 to a staggering £2.15.

Only last month we reported how customers were criticising Morrisons, when it put the price of the product up to £1.99 and the increase at Sainsbury's now makes it the most expensive of the lot for butter - and the second most expensive overall.
Still taking the unfortunate position as most expensive for the full shopping list is Morrisons, at £12.06, itself introducing another rise this week with a loaf of bread rising from 79p to 85p.
This week's other increase is at Asda, where chicken has risen from£2.65 for a 350g pack up to £2.70, a move that has taken it from second cheapest supermarket, to third, behind Tesco and Lidl, which retains its cheapest crown at £9.97 - the only one where the shopping basket comes in at less than a tenner.
The only slight difference in sizes is with the baked beans, which range from 400g in Sainsbury's and 410g in Asda and Morrisons, to the standard 420g in Aldi, Lidl and Tesco. Where Asda's pack of chicken is larger, we've worked out the equivalent price for a fairer comparison.
