Saif Ali Khan Attack Case: Auto-driver recalls horrific account of actor's auto ride, watch video

Mumbai: A day after actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra residence, an auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who took him to the Lilavati Hospital, said he was not aware that the passenger he was taking to the Hospital was film actor Saif Ali Khan.


"At first, I thought it was a regular assault case. I did not know he was actor. It was only when we reached the hospital gate that he called the guard to bring a stretcher, saying he was Saif Ali Khan," the auto-driver told reporters. 


When I was passing by the Satguru Darshan building,  a woman and a few others came running shouting stop the rickshaw, he recalled.  

'White Kurta soaked in blood' 
"Then the person whose white kurta was soaked in blood got into the auto. I noticed he had injuries to neck and back," Bhajan Singh Rana said.

He said when he asked whether he should drive to Holy Family or Lilavati Hospital, the actor said, "Take me to Lilavati". 

After reaching the hospital, a guard was called, said the auto driver, adding that it was then the passenger said: "I am Saif Ali Khan."

Saif was attacked at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, in the wee hours of Thursday after he tried to protect his family during a robbery bid.

 The incident occurred when an intruder allegedly confronted the actor's maid at his residence. As Saif attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, it escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in the   actor sustaining several stab wounds.

After surgery, he was shifted to ICU, where he is currently recovering.

Case registered
Mumbai police registered an FIR regarding the attack on the actor and recorded the statement of the complainant, who is the maid employed by the actor.
