Safety warning issued for Irn-Bru products due to problem with bottle caps

AG Barr says the fault is 'intermittent'

A SAFETY notice has been issued about Irn-Bru products due to a problem with bottle caps.

As a precautionary measure, AG Barr is recalling certain 750ml Irn-Bru Regular and Irn-Bru 1901 glass bottles.

The company say this is due to an "infrequent" and "intermittent" fault which is causing some bottle caps to pop off unexpectedly.

The Irn-Bru Regular glass bottles affected have the codes MAR 2023 C2 2083 and MAR 2023 C2 2084 stamped onto the neck.

The Irn-Bru 1901 glass bottles affected have the codes MAR 2023 C2 2082, MAR 2023 C2 2087 and MAR 2023 C2 2088.

Those with the affected batches are asked to open the bottles carefully to release the pressure, making sure it is pointed away from the body and held at arm's length.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact AG Barr via email at consumercare@agbarr.co.uk.
