A Sherwood cafe has announced that it will be closing its doors for good next year. Cafe PAS MAMA, located in Haydn Road, will be permanently closing on January 15, 2023 as one of many businesses struggling in the current conditions.
The Lithuanian cafe is known for its delicious eastern European food, and is open until 5pm every day of the week, serving wholesome home-cooked dishes for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. In a Facebook post, the business stated: "Hello everybody! Rumours are spreading, so just to make it clear.
"Yes, we have come to a sad decision to close the business permanently from 15th of January 2023. Huge thank you for being with us all this time and really hope you will stay loyal customers till the very end."

The current owner, now in their sixties, has run for business for five years. The owner, who has not been named, said: "Because of my age, health and prices, it’s difficult to survive.
"Electricity has gone up to about £600 a month, It’s just too much. We have local customers, some part of the international community.
“It’s not easy but what can I do? I’m getting old and had to think about how to change my life."
The owner previously worked at a warehouse. When asked about how they thought owning a cafe would be, they stated: "I thought it would be easy but it’s not.”
