Sadness as popular Inchicore hairdressers closes after 50 years of serving the community

A popular hairdressers in Inchicore has closed down after 50 years of serving the community.

The shop was on the Old Kilmainham Road and was a firm favourite among many families.

Sean Wright Hairdressing closed its doors for the last time on Christmas Eve 2021 with a notice left thanking customers for all their supports over the decades.

It reads: "We've retired our scissors.

"Sean, Jimmy and Michael would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our customers and some wonderful memories.

"Here's to the next chapter."

Locals were sad to see the end of an era that lasted half a century.

Many took to Facebook to share their fond memories of the little piece of Inchicore history.

Others thanked the lads for all the help over the years and wished them the best for the future.

One person said: "Back in the day he gave me a free one... tried to repair the bad cut that my Dad had given me...with clippers he had gotten in Hector Grey's. Have a good retirement."

Another wrote: "Enjoy the retirement lads."

A third person said: "My ex-husband got his hair cut the morning of his wedding. Long time ago."
