Having endured a, somewhat, underwhelming campaign, it cannot be argued that Liverpool suffered from the absence of star attacker Sadio Mane following the Senegalese international's move to Bayern Munich last summer.
Although Mohammed Salah maintained his impeccable record in a red shirt, injuries to Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota prevented the duo from making season-long contributions, while the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo needed time to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football.
With Roberto Firmino having now departed Anfield upon the expiration of his contract, Jurgen Klopp could, undoubtedly, benefit from an attacking player of Mane's credentials. After all, he netted double figures for goals in every campaign on Merseyside after joining from Southampton in the summer of 2016.

However, for a player that won every trophy on offer to him at Anfield, Mane's stint in Bavaria has certainly not gone as all parties would have hoped.
As a matter of fact, a recent poll conducted by Bundesliga fans saw a whopping 41.7% of supporters name Mane as their 'biggest disappointment' of the season, even if he helped them win an 11th consecutive league title.
Despite failing to hit the heights of previous campaigns, the 31-year-old still managed to contribute seven Bundesliga goals and three efforts in the UEFA Champions League.
The sacking of Julian Nagelsmann did not work in Mane's favour either, with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel often preferring to utilize other attacking options.
He also made headlines for the wrong reasons after Bayern were knocked out of the Champions League by eventual winners Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
Reports emerged claiming that Mane had allegedly punched teammate Leroy Sane in the dressing room post-match, causing a cut to the German's lower lip.
It is yet to be seen whether Mane will remain with the club this summer, but it is unlikely that he will be short of suitors if an exit is sanctioned from the Allianz Arena.
