Sadio Mane faces a difficult task in securing his ideal move if he does end up leaving Liverpool.
The Senegal star, fresh from winning AFCON, has been at Anfield since 2016.
He has been a vital part of their forward line but there could soon be a transition on Merseyside following Luis Diaz's arrival.
Diogo Jota has already been able to oust Roberto Firmino in the No.9 role and Mane could be the next to see his minutes hampered.
The 29-year-old is reportedly open to a move to Spain.
Barcelona and Real Madrid, despite their decline in recent years, continue to have a major pull with players.
Goal claimed recently that a contract extension has yet to be tabled for Mane and, while the player is happy, he could yet be convinced to move elsewhere.

The problem for the Liverpool forward is whether there would be an opening.
His current deal expires in 2023 so he won't be leaving on the cheap, especially with the Reds known for their shrewd transfer business.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are also either pursuing other targets or happy with their current options.
Los Blancos have their sights set on Erling Haaland, who will see his £65m release clause come into effect when this season ends.
Alongside the Borussia Dortmund star they also want Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman is out of contract at PSG this summer and could be on the move for nothing, although he is set to command a hefty pay packet.
Barcelona meanwhile added several players in the January window.
They already have high hopes for La Masia graduate Ansu Fati whilst they've also added Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Adama Traore joined from Wolves, returning to Catalunya after several years in England.
Mane hopes to be considered among the finest African players in history and believes success in another country would further his case.
Speaking to the ECHO, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher admitted that while he hopes both Mane and Mo Salah sign new deals, “nothing lasts forever”.
“You look at him [Salah] and Mane now in the Africa Cup of Nations final, two of the best attackers in world football, and the service they’ve given the club. Hopefully we can get a few more years out of them,” he explained.
“And I’m sure everyone in that dressing room now will be desperate for Mo Salah to sign a new contract as well as Sadio Mane and Bobby Firmino as well.
“These are legends of this club and we’ll be talking about them in 20-30 years, that’s how good they’ve been.
“But nothing lasts forever and that’s why Liverpool have done such really good business with Luis Diaz because maybe, who knows, at the end of the season or the year after one of the front three will move on. They’re at that age in football.”
