Sadio Mane reveals one reason he left Liverpool as Raheem Sterling agreement reached

Here are your Sunday morning Liverpool headlines on Sunday, July 10.

Mane's love for Munich

Sadio Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich for a fee worth just over £35million.

The Senegal star was instrumental to the Reds' success under Jurgen Klopp but wanted a new challenge and left for the German champions at the end of the 2021/22 season. Now with his new team-mates, Mane provided new information as to why he chose Munich to spend the next few years of his career.

Speaking to FCBayern.TV, he said: "When I lived in Salzburg, I used to come to Munich regularly. The people are very respectful and nice."

Sterling joining Chelsea

Chelsea and Man City have agreed a transfer for former Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling for £47.5million.

Sterling left Anfield in 2015 for the Etihad Stadium and though the Reds have enjoyed a percentage of transfer fees when ex-Reds have moved on, the ECHO understands that this will not be the case in this deal. This is because the England international penned a new deal in 2018, his second for the reigning Premier League Champions.

Sterling will join Gabriel Jesus out the door at City this summer, with Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips replacing him as incoming players.
