Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane reportedly punched Leroy Sane in the face after Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat by Manchester City on Tuesday evening.
The Bundesliga giants have a mountain to climb to keep their European hopes alive, having suffered a 3-0 loss courtesy of City goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.
This result continues what has been a disappointing campaign as far as Bayern are concerned, and things haven’t gone according to plan for Mane since his summer switch either. After a bright start to life in Germany, the Senegalese forward was sidelined for three months and has faced criticism from local media for his performances since returning to the team in February.

Now involved in what appears to be a serious incident, it has been claimed Mane struck Sane in the face inside the Bayern dressing room after the full-time whistle.
Deployed from the bench with 21 minutes remaining in the match, the ex-Reds fan-favourite became involved in an on-pitch argument with Sane and this led to a ‘loud discussion’ taking place between the pair after the game.
After voicing his complaints over the way the former City winger spoke to him, the pair had to be ‘separated’ after Mane is said to have landed a punch on the lip of the German. A BILD report has stated this blow ‘left marks on Sane’s face’, adding Bayern have refused to comment on the matter.
A separate story from Sky Germany via Sky Sports has explained Sane's lip was bleeding after this altercation and that the pair took separate exits out of Munich airport upon their return home.
