Sadio Mane fired Liverpool to a hard-fought win over West Ham to pile the pressure on Manchester City in the title race.
The winger's first-half strike made the difference as Jurgen Klopp's men secured a vital three points against the Hammers.
Liverpool came firing out the blocks as Mane's goal gave the hosts a well-deserved lead.
But West Ham didn't come to Anfield just to make up the numbers as they registered ten shots in the opening 45 minutes and were unlucky to be on level terms at half-time.
The game fizzled out after the break until a late surge from David Moyes' side in the final ten minutes, but Liverpool used their experience to see out the game.
Here are the talking points from the Premier League clash.
Trent reaches new heights
Liverpool were dominant in the opening stags and it comes as no surprise to see that Trent Alexander-Arnold was in the thick of it.
The right-back set up Sadio Mane for the Red's opener with a brilliant assist, his 16th of the season in all competitions.
That beats his best ever tally from 2018/19 and 2019/20 and it's only March so there is a good chance he will reach the 20 assist mark - a ridiculous feat considering he is a defender.
He almost got his 17th assist shortly after Mane's strike but West Ham scrambled Luis Diaz's effort off the line.
And moments later it was Alexander-Arnold's turn to clear the ball off the line as he raced back to stop Pablo Fornal's lob going past Alisson.
He's indispensable to Liverpool.
Konate's streak continues
Ibrahima Konate got the nod in Liverpool's starting XI after coming on in extra time for their Carabao Cup win against Chelsea last weekend.
First-team opportunities have been hard to come by for the defender but he has looked impressive across his 18 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool are unbeaten when Konate is in the side and that impressive steak continued against West Ham.
He had his hands full with Michail Antonio but dealt with his physical presence expertly throughout the 90 minutes.
He also became the only player to be included in every matchday squad for Liverpool this season with Kostas Tsimikas missing against West Ham.
No Rice big problem
Declan Rice was also absent from the matchday squad due to illness - a huge blow for West Ham.
David Moyes said before kick-off the Hammers would do their best to cope without the midfielder while conceding that he would be a "huge miss."
He said: "No, I think we play quite a bit without Declan at different times so we’ll do it again. We had a period last season where we had to do without Declan - he got injured playing for England and he missed five games towards the end of last season so no we get on with it."
"Well, he’s a big miss that’s what we would say but not a huge rejig no."
And it's fair to say the visitors could have done with Rice in the middle of the park.
Liverpool's front three were able to get at West ham's defence with ease, especially in the first half, and they sorely missed Rice who usually protects the backline ever so well.
Bowen blow
Jarrod Bowen was forced off with a horrible-looking injury against the Reds just as the second half got underway.
The winger received treatment for a lengthy period before being helped off by two physios.
It didn't look for the Englishman who is having a phenomenal season for the Hammers.
Bowen's absence clearly had an impact on West Ham from that point on and they didn't look nearly as dangerous, until a late onslaught.
And they'll be fearing the worst for the rest of the season as Bowen could be out for a prolonged period of time.
Liverpool keep title dream alive
It was by no means a vintage performance from Liverpool but a crucial three points as they put the heat on Pep Guardiola's men.
They are now three points behind City who are set to play Manchester United on Super Sunday.
Liverpool will have a game in hand after that is played so there is a feeling the momentum is starting to shift.
It seemed like City were going to run away with the title a few weeks ago but it's certainly game on as we enter the business end of the season.
