AHMEDABAD: The Mumbai Cricket Association is planning to erect cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's life-size statue-it will be about 20 feet tall- in the Sachin Tendulkar Stand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the 2023 ODI World Cup, TOI has learnt.
"The statue is likely to be placed between the Sachin Tendulkar and Vijay Merchant Stands. The statue is likely to be inaugurated by a very big minister, before one of the games in the World Cup," said a source.
In February, MCA president Amol Kale had announced that the association was planning to erect a life-size statue of Tendulkar inside the Wankhede, in what will be a 'special gift' for the icon, who turned 50 this year, during the ODI World Cup.
