An Adelaide court has heard a man accused of raping two women as part of an alleged gang rape in Adelaide's CBD asked another person to pay the alleged victim $4,000 to stay quiet or provide false information to authorities.

The 21-year-old man from Clearview, who can't be identified for legal reasons, faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court from the City Watch House this afternoon charged with two counts of rape and inducing a witness.
In making an application for bail, the court heard two days after the alleged rape the man asked another person known to him to phone one of the alleged victims and offer her $4,000.
The court heard police found the cash at the man's house.
The court also heard one of the alleged victims knew the man and provided his name to police.
The man's lawyer, James Noblet, told the court his client "emphatically denied" the allegations.
"There's always two sides to a coin when it comes to explanations," Mr Noblet said. "There was volumes of alcohol involved and there was cannabis smoked or induced."
Mr Noblet said his client had no criminal history and had the full support of his parents who he lived with.
Prosecutors opposed all forms of bail.
The man's two brothers and father were in court and offered a $5,000 cash surety as "as a show of support" to get their relative granted home-detention bail.
The man will be remanded in custody to face court again next week.
A court heard yesterday that seven males allegedly forced two women into the stairwell of an Adelaide car park where they were then repeatedly raped for over 30 minutes.
Police have now charged five people in relation to the alleged crime.
A 17-year-old boy from Newton in Adelaide's north-east was arrested on Tuesday and charged with inducing a witness to withhold evidence.
He was granted bail to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on January 19.
Earlier this week, police arrested a 17-year-old Blair Athol boy, a 23-year-old Kensington man, and a 20-year-old man of no fixed address.
The 23-year-old Kensington man — whose identity has been suppressed by the court — appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon where he applied to be released on bail.
Magistrate Nick Alexandrides adjourned the bail application until next week to see if the accused was suitable for home detention, and to see whether the suppression order should be lifted.
The 17-year-old boy from Blair Athol and 20-year-old man of no fixed address appeared in court on Monday.
SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said the allegation was "obviously one of very serious concern".
"But I don't think it actually requires me verbalising the fact that an allegation of this sort does raise serious concerns for the wellbeing of people involved and the general sense of community safety.
"So we're prioritising our resources into this to make sure we wrap this up as quickly as we can ... and provide some level of confidence to the community that this matter has been properly investigated."
Commissioner Stevens encouraged anyone with information surrounding the alleged incident, including any CCTV or other video footage, to contact police.
