Jo O'Meara has revealed she was taken to hospital after suffering "horrendous pain" in her back.
S Club star Jo, 43, revealed her back gave in on her during rehearsals for an upcoming gig and was forced to seek medical attention.
The singer shared her health woes with her fans as she posted a photo of herself from her hospital bed.
In the image, Jo is seen with her hair tied up and wearing a pair of glasses as she sports a hospital gown while being propped up by some pillows in bed.
However, she appeared to be keeping in high spirits as she grinned at the camera for the snap.
In the caption, Jo revealed that after 20 years of barely any issues with her back – having initially injured it in 2022 – she had suffered a blow.
Jo explained to her 38.2k followers: "So after almost 20 years pain free my back decided it was time to flake out on me again.
"The pain has been absolutely horrendous! 4 discs bulging, and a bad case of sciatica, I yesterday went for spinal blockers at the amazing @thelondonclinichospital to try and get things moving again!
"It will not stop me doing my shows, and I will not be beaten by it!"
However, Jo insisted she will still be performing this weekend as she's due to appear to Gloucester Pride.
She continued: "So I look forward to seeing you all at Gloucester Pride this weekend where I will be headlining, And the following week I will be Headlining at Fife pride !
"Make sure to come and say hello ! I would like to give a huge shoutout to my unbelievable Management team @sagamusictv for getting me in so quickly to hospital."
Jo kept optimistic as she added: "This back of mine will not stop me doing what I love so I shall see you there !!
"Plus ::: something very exciting is happening …….. very soon ! So keep your eye peeled !" [sic]
The Don't Stop Movin' singer was soon flooded with well wishes from celebrity friends and fans in the comments section.
Love Island's Amy Day wrote: "Wishing you a quick recovery Jo ".
While a fan chimed: "Hope your in the mend soon !!! But don’t push it too much your fans will all be there for you".
"Sending you lots of love! You got this, beautiful!," another added while a third wrote: "Take your time and rest up be well beautiful".
Jo first injured her back in 2002 while filming S Club 7's movie Seeing Double, which left her struggling to move.
Speaking about the injury with The Sun last year, Jo recalled: "That was a really tough time for me. On the tour I was just plonked in different parts of the stage to sing and it was very frustrating.
"Putting on a lot of weight at that time didn’t help because I felt really bad about myself. It was a horrible time."
