S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole's death certificate shows he died of multiple heart issues

S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole passed away from multiple heart problems, his death certificate reveals.

The form confirms that the musician from Dorset passed away on April 6 this year, weeks after it was confirmed that S Club were preparing for a 25th anniversary comeback tour set for October.

His death certificate, seen by Express.co.uk, confirms that he died from a 'cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischaemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque haemorrhage'.

The coroner was informed of the star's passing by Paul's mother, Linda - after he was found dead at his home on April 6, just 46 years old. The coroner's spokesperson said that investigations into his death had concluded and that his death was ruled as natural causes.

An arrhythmia is described by the NHS as a problem with the heart rate or rhythm, making it difficult for the vital organ to pump blood to other body parts. Myocardial ischemia is when reduced blood flow to the heart prevents it from getting enough oxygen - making it harder for the organ to properly pump blood, as reported by the Mayo Clinic.

This typically occurs when arteries are blocked by fatty materials inside arteries.

Paul had prior exclaimed how excited he was about the upcoming S Club tour, which will now be conducted in tribute to the star. Following his death, bandmate Hannah Spearritt led the tributes to her 'first love' in an emotional statement.

Hannah, who later pulled out of the tour following her loss of a close one, said: "Even now, it’s still so raw, I still even now have moments that you don’t quite believe it’s real. He was my first love. I had a boyfriend previous to Paul, but I’d say he was my first true love.”

The pair were involved in a romantic relationship together during the band's peak before splitting up. They also rekindled their relationship briefly in 2015.

Other S Club members also paid tribute to Paul in the days after the shocking news.

Rachel Stevens said: "He’s always going to be with us. He was such a big part of this tour, so involved in everything that we are planning. And we are just going to keep his memory alive and share it with all of you and it’s going to make it even more special."

Bradley McIntosh also detailed his 'disbelief' over losing the group's 'big brother'. He added: "No one could ever replace our Paul, but he lives on inside each and every one of us."
