S Club 7 now as band reunites 25 years on - solo albums, starring TV roles and homelessness

S Club 7 are back to mark 25 years since they first landed on the music scene, much to the delight of legions of fans who grew up listening to their era-defining hits like Reach, Don't Stop Movin' and Never Had A Dream Come True.

The iconic band announced earlier this month that all seven members will embark on an arena tour later this year, including a stop-off at Newcastle's Utilita Arena - leading to a mad scramble for tickets as fans rushed to secure their place for the guaranteed nostalgia-fest. The group said in a joint statement: "We're so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years. We can't even believe it's been so long!"

It's been eight years since the band last reunited, and 20 years since they first split, with Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett all pursuing their own careers after S Club parted ways. Here's what each of them have been up to in the last two decades, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Rachel Stevens

Rachel ventured out into the music industry solo after S Club split, releasing hit debut single Sweet Dreams My La Ex before following it up with More More More and Song Girls. After securing seven top-40 singles, Rachel ended up turning her hand to TV in a string of hit reality shows.

The now 44-year-old appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, finishing in second place, as well as being a guest mentor on The X Factor in New Zealand in 2013 and going on Celebrity Masterchef in 2017. Last year saw Rachel take on another reality show challenge, as a contestant on Dancing On Ice.

Rachel has also treaded the boards in stage work, joining the cast of theatre show Rip It Up The 70s in 2019 alongside Blue's Lee Ryan, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and Strictly winner Louis Smith. Rachel revealed that she still has therapy to cope with her time in S Club, having been aged just 19 when the band started.

Rachel has two daughters with childhood sweetheart Alex Bourne, with the pair meeting when she was just 12 before rekindling their romance years later and tying the knot in 2009. However, the star revealed that they had sadly split in July last year, writing on Instagram: "I just wanted to share with you all that after time and consideration the difficult decision has been made for Alex and I to separate.

"While we are no longer partners in marriage, we will remain partners in parenthood to our beautiful girls and continue with love and respect for each other. I feel so incredibly grateful for the life we built together and will now continue to be focused on moving forward united as a family."

Hannah Spearritt (PA)

Hannah Spearritt

Hannah turned her talents to acting after S Club split, landing parts in films Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London and horror movie Seed of Chucky. Her biggest role came as lead character Abby Maitland in the ITV sci-fi series Primeval, where she met co-star Andrew-Lee Potts.

Hannah and Andrew-Lee dated from 2008 until 2013, and Hannah went on to meet nutritionist Adam Thomas, having previously dated S Club bandmate Paul until 2005. Hannah and Adam split in 2015 but rekindled their relationship in 2018, and now have two children together.

Hannah's acting career continued with roles in Casualty and EastEnders - but the star hit the headlines last month when she and her family were forced out of their home by a landlord. She revealed that they had loved in four temporary homes within the last six months, living in an office over Christmas and New Year.

Unfortunately that wasn't the first of Hannah's struggles, with the now 41-year-old admitting that she had come down with an illness that had left her bedbound while her and her partner's new café venture had also stalled. She told The Sun that the public perception of S Club members as "millionaires" was "just not true".

Jon Lee (PA)

Jon Lee

After S Club went their separate ways Jon went back to his musical theatre roots, starring in the likes of Les Miserables and Jersey Boys. The now 40-year-old also put his hand to voice acting work in the Disney Channel cartoon series, Famous 5: On the Case.

Not one to leave his music days behind, Jon released his debut solo album, Fallen Angel, in 2013. And in 2010 Jon came out, telling Gay Times that he had told family and friends about his sexuality at a young age and adding: "It's never needed to be a huge change that I've had to tell everyone about."

Jo O'Meara (Yui Mok/PA)

Jo O'Meara

Jo released her debut solo single, What Hurts the Most, in September 2005, which reached number 13 in the singles chart, followed up by album Relentless. The star then ventured into TV, appearing on Just The Two Of Us in 2006 before going into the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2007.

Jo, now 43, went on to reunite with some of her S Club bandmates to perform as part of S Club 3, and welcomed her son Lenny with ex Bill Slater. She went on to release a second solo album, With Love, in 2021 - but Jo was later left fearing that she may never perform again when she was hit with agonising health struggles.

Jo spent eight days in hospital where surgeons removed part of a disc in her back and has been left with permanent damage to her right leg following the ordeal, facing months of physio before she can get back on the stage. Former This Morning host Eamonn Holmes revealed that Jo had got in touch to offer him support after he also suffered from painful disc problems in his back.

Bradley McIntosh (Birmingham Mail)

Bradley went on to form a supergroup on MTV's Totally Boyband after S Club disbanded. The group, called Upper Street, also included former members of Steps, Another Level and 911 - but unfortunately, their single The One only managed to climb to number 35 in the UK charts.

Bradley went on to launch a solo career under the name City Boy through which he released the single No Regret, as well as writing and producing music for the likes of JLS and former Sugababe Mutya Buena. From 2008, he also performed across the UK and Australia with S Club 3.

The now 41-year-old is a dad to his four-year-old son, and is an entrepreneur away from his music career. Bradley runs artist management company Citi Boy Entertainment, and is also director of the company Yoghurt Media.

Tina Barrett (Mirrorpix)

Tina Barrett

After S Club called it a day, Tina joined forces with Natasha Bedingfield and Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon to form the Girls of FHM. The group recorded their own version of Rod Stewart's hit Do Ya Think I'm Sexy which reached the top 10 of the UK singles chart, and the profits were donated to a breast cancer charity.

Tina stepped out of the limelight for a while until 2012, when she returned to the music scene with the release of her debut solo single Fire, followed by Make Me Dance and All Fired Up. She then became part of S Club 3 with Jo and Bradley after Paul's departure, and also ventured into musical theatre, starring in Beauty and the Beast in 2013 and The Wizard of Oz the following year.

Tina, now 46, gave birth to son Roman in 2016 and has continued to make music, releasing her latest single Mwah Mwah in 2020. But her career could have looked very different - she was in the original line up of iconic 90s and noughties band Mis-Teeq with Alesha Dixon and Sabrina Washington, before leaving to join S Club.

Paul announced his departure from S Club in 2002, a year before the rest of his bandmates officially called it quits. Paul went on to form a new band with some school friends, nu metal group Skua, but they split in 2003 after failing to secure a record deal.

Five years after S Club split, Paul started performing at holiday camps, universities and nightclubs up and down the country with Bradley and Jo as part of S Club 3. However, things got increasingly difficult for Paul, the now 45-year-old shared on an episode of Loose Women back in 2018.

Paul told the panel that he had run out of money, to the point where he had even had to borrow a shirt to appear on the show. He explained at the time: "Last year, there's something that I can't really discuss that happened so it's a bit tricky. But I've had an injury, so that's what's happened in the last year that's made it very difficult."

However, Paul then stepped back in the spotlight a year later with an appearance on E4's First Dates Hotel, admitting that he "hadn't had a lot of luck with women" and wanted to meet someone who shared his interest in music and performing. And last year Paul revealed that he had embarked on a new career as a psychic, offering tarot card readings via his YouTube channel.
