Rylan Clark announced his decision to quit Strictly Come Dancing after four years and his friend Eamonn Holmes has hinted at why the presenter wants to depart the show.
Sharing a statement on Instagram, Rylan said: "After four fantastic years it's time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I've had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can't thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.
"I've been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me. The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me. Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart...and my dancing feet."
GB News host Eamonn was quick to speculate on why his friend has decided to step down from the BBC show.
Commenting on the presenter's post, Eamonn wrote: "Bet u r becoming a Contestant !!"
The former This Morning host wasn't the only one who thought Rylan could be set to join the line-up later this year and head to the dance floor.
"Now you can be on it as a dancer," one fan remarked while another said: "That's a shame. But you could be a contestant now."
Strictly finalist Faye Tozer agreed: "Noooo! Well those 4 years flew!! Love you @rylan (hope to see you on the dance floor!)"
Members of the Strictly extended family praised the presenter as Eamonn's wife and former Strictly star Ruth Langsford wrote: "Won’t be the same without you x."
Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman, who hosted the show until 2011, said: "WE LOVE YOU. And we’ll miss you so so much," and co-host Tess Daly added: "We love you so much!!"
Ballroom and Latin dancer Johannes Radebe commented: "All my love to you," while former contestant Richie Anderson remarked: "Rylan you’re a legend! Loved coming to see you on ITT always made it so fun."
Matt Baker, who finished as a runner-up in 2010, quipped: "Great job Rylan it’s a 10 from me."
