Rylan has sent Big Brother fans into another frenzy after subtly hinting at a potential presenting role for him on the new ITV reboot.
Speaking on the Talks With Ash space on Twitter last night, the former X Factor star laughed with the host after a mic drop moment.
The 33-year-old telly star teased fans and joked he was leaving the show before saying something he regretted to show host Ashleigh Louise.
In front of 11,000 listeners, Rylan praised Ash for her Twitter Spaces during the last season of Love Island, saying he’d like to one day meet her.
“Fingers crossed we do get to meet some day, fingers crossed we meet on the Big Brother ’s ‘Litte Brother’ chat where I’ll be a contributor,” Ashleigh quipped.
After laughing off the comment, Rylan said: “Ashleigh listen, you’re jumping the gun. I am just a fan of Big Brother and I’ve got no idea what you’re going on about.”
“I’m just a massive fan of Big Brother, ok,” he added before laughing nervously.
The pair laughed together – hinting that Ash might have known more than she was letting off.
Rylan joked: “Don’t you start with me tonight.”
Thousands of listeners were waiting for some form of announcement as Ash prodded Rylan, saying “But, you like Big Brother right? And you are a good presenter, right soooo?”
Rylan quickly clapped back with “I’m going to go, but thanks so much” before the pair both went back into fits of laughter.
“I live and breathe Big Brother, I’ve got a diary room in my house,” added Rylan.
“When anyone says ‘oh my god I’d love you to do this or do that’ obviously I’m so grateful that people even think of me.”
The reality TV star, who actually appeared on Celebrity Big Brother himself, then reflected back to his time on the X Factor and how far he’s come as a presenter.
“I’m lucky with what I’ve done, it’s 10 years this year since I was on X Factor.
“But I’m just lucky I’m still going this far, I didn’t think I was going to last ten minutes.
“So yeah I’m just so grateful for anything that comes my way,” he subtly hinted.
“When the news that Big Brother was coming back broke, I was very very happy, very very happy. I’m going to say nothing,” he added.
The world-famous reality TV show, which first launched in the Netherlands in 1999, will “maintain its familiar format” when it returns next year.
It comes back on air in the UK following an almost five-year hiatus after the last two seasons finished on Channel 5 in 2018.
The reboot will start with a civilian series with cast members from “all walks of life” entering the iconic Big Brother House.
It will reportedly take place at a new filming location after the old Big Brother House was knocked down at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.
Now it’s thought that the ITV reboot will ‘launch in May next year’ from Bovingdon Airfield, home to Dancing on Ice, The Masked Singer and several BBC shows.
