Rylan Clark was flooded with support from his loyal followers after he posted a fearful-looking selfie on Twitter. The BBC Radio 2 host shared the early morning snap of himself to his social media account on Wednesday morning (February 8) as he appeared in a robe.
The 34-year-old looked less pristine than he usually does on TV as he donned the white dressing gown with his dark locks still messy from a night in bed. But Rylan was up and at 'em quite early for a very good reason.
It was revealed last week that the former Celebrity Big Brother winner and X Factor star will be joining Emma Willis on her Comic Relief challenge. The presenters will also be joined by Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse as they take on the unforgiving, subarctic terrain of the Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands.
The trio started to tackle the brutal landscape on Wednesday morning with the challenge taking place across three punishing days and two freezing nights, all captured for a special documentary which will air on BBC One in the run up to Red Nose Day on March 17.
Posting his selfie to Twitter, Rylan typed: "Challenge starts today at 8.50 on @BBCBreakfast…. My bag is bigger than me (or two Oti Mabuse’s if you will) @EmmaWillis @comicrelief."
But he was quickly inundated with supportive and encouraging messages. @Charlottesayshi said: "GOOD LUCK!! You’ll be incredible." @samanthahugo2 replied: "Good luck. You will do it!" @jemgirl_atpiano echoed: "You can do it Rylan!"
@maisymudds wrote: "Best of luck @rylan you can do it." @MrsM35614845 posted: "Good luck. Send some good vibes and massive huggles all around." @loulittlemac added: "Good luck Rylan you will smash it."
Rylan has since been sharing videos to his Instagram Story, showing the windy conditions the group are facing during the first day of their mammoth challenge. "Helle, girls are having a wee. I'm on wee watch while they're weeing in a bush," he laughed before adding: "This is the glamour. Look at my hair."
Emma also shared a selfie to her Instagram page as they headed to the start line and was sent lots of messages from her celebrity pals. Ted Lasso actress and Strictly 2022 star Ellie Taylor said: "Good luck chickens!!!!" Presenter Laura Whitmore commented: "Good luck guys." And Dame Kelly Holmes posted: "Good Luck you will smash it."
