Fans loved Rylan as the host of Strictly Come Dancing's spin-off show It Takes Two and many were disappointed when he stepped down as host in April 2023. Now the presenter has announced his newest project, which he'll be fronting after this month's Eurovision song contest hosting duties.
Still working with the BBC, the Radio 2 DJ will front a new podcast called How to Be a Man, which will see him trace the "fault lines of modern masculinity" through a series of conversations with celebrities and prominent figures. Broadcasting on BBC Radio 4 and available as a boxset first on BBC Sounds, the podcast delves into a variety of experiences and opinions about How to be a Man today.
Throughout the series, Rylan explores everything from toxic masculinity to old-fashioned male stereotypes, gender identity and body image, role models and cultural differences, parenthood, and how we might educate the next generation. Rylan is not afraid to ask the big questions and taps into some of his guests’ deepest vulnerabilities, buoyed by his infectious sense of humour.

Speaking about the new project, Rylan said: “I’m looking forward to chatting to a bunch of interesting people about what it means to be a modern man. From the old fashioned stereotypes to gender identity, I hope people find these conversations interesting, insightful and perhaps even useful.”
All episodes of How to Be a Man will be available on BBC Sounds from Tuesday, May 9 and will be broadcast weekly on BBC Radio 4 starting at 11pm on Thursday, May 18. Rylan decided to step down from It Takes Two as "the time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me.", which he said in a statement at the time.
