A close friend and colleague of a Ryanair worker who died after being hit by a car has spoken about the "very popular" woman.
Cinzia Ceravolo, 36, from South Liverpool died in hospital after being hit by a car on her way home from her job as a Ryanair cabin crew member. Cinzia suffered serious head injuries after she was hit by a Ford Focus at a "traffic black spot" while walking on Hale Road close to the junction with Liverpool John Lennon Airport in Speke on Monday, August 22.
A man, 30, from Speke was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving. He was later released, and Merseyside Police confirmed he remains under investigation.

She is one of three people to have died on the road in recent years.
A colleague and close friend of Cinzia today told the ECHO she was a "very popular" person. He said that they had made plans together to go to the Doctor Who exhibit in the week after the fatal collision.
Laszlo Marothy, 36, who also works for Ryanair and was a union rep for Unite along with Cinzia, said: "[Of the fatalities on the road] Cinzia was the one that we knew. It’s really difficult because she was very popular. She was friends with a lot of people.
"We used to do a lot outside of work, we used to go to the cinema together, we’ve done programs and things together. It was just all of a sudden, someone that we knew like that was taken.
"We were excited to go to see the new Doctor Who exhibition that had just opened a few months before in the week after the incident happened. It’s really difficult, for a lot of us.
"Ryanair Liverpool is quite a small base, more or less everyone knows everyone. We work together but we have outside of work activities together as well.
"It just shook everyone, the cabin crew, the pilots, the engineers. Everyone."
