Ryanair to resume route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport

A Ryanair route will return to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The budget airline will now operate its route between Liverpool and Malta for winter. It will run two flights in each direction per week, departing on Thursdays and Sundays.

The route last operated in March of this year. Announcing its resumption, the airline tweeted: "Malta is back! Fly to the Mediterranean island with Ryanair".

In December, one-way flights from Liverpool will begin at £20.99. The Ryanair route follows a number to have been reinstated or begun at the Speke-based airport in recent months, including the relaunched easyJet route between Liverpool and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Icelandic airline PLAY began operating from the airport last month, offering services between Liverpool and Reykjavík–Keflavík Airport, as well as onward connections to America. Additionally, it was announced earlier this month that Norwegian airline Widerøe will return to Liverpool John Lennon Airport next year.

Scandinavia’s largest regional airline last operated from Liverpool in 2020, with their previous service coming to an end due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it will return with twice weekly departures to Bergen from March 31, 2023.
