Ryanair passengers make 'citizen's arrest' on drunk man who tried to leave plane mid-air

Fed up Ryanair passengers performed a “citizen's arrest” on a rowdy flyer when he tried to leave their plane mid-air, it is claimed.

The flight between Luton Airport and Vilnius in Lithuania on Saturday was interrupted by the drunken man abusing others on the plane.

Video shot by shocked onlookers showed him confronting members of the cabin crew and threatening people before passengers took matters into their own hands.

TikTok users claimed he attempted to leave the flight mid-air, so they performed a citizen's arrest on the man as he shouted: "I don't f****** care who the f*** you are" and "Don't touch me", Birmingham Live reported.

Sharing the footage, user Milda wrote on TikTok: "Citizens arrest mid flight. London Luton - Vilnius 13.08.2022."

"Long story short, drank too much, got so aggressive, tried to 'leave' the plane mid air.

"He was left alone on three separate occasions but kept getting up and threatening people."

The passengers claimed the man had been drinking a bottle of booze bought in Duty Free.

Biddy replied: "I don't know why the sale of alcohol isn't banned on flights anyway when some people act like this."

Sarah added: “Glad to see some strong peeps handle the situation.

“I'd be rocking at the back of the plane at that point breathing into a bag.”

Olivia, who claimed to have been working aboard the flight, added: “"I was one of the cabin crew on this flight and I was looking for a video of this for days now."

Milda replied: "I remember you.

“You guys had a tough time with him for much longer than this video, thank you and your colleagues"

Ryanair has been approached for comment.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said they have no record of the incident.

Earlier this month it was reported another Ryanair flight descended into chaos with kids bursting into tears and passengers speculating there could be a bomb onboard after someone got on to the plane without a ticket.

Grandma Barbara Watson had been to Majorca with her family and was flying from Palma to Manchester when she claimed a man from the previous flight had managed to sneak on to their plane, Manchester Evening News reported.

She said: “The flight that came in, everyone got off board and one person stayed on the bridge and was hiding

“When we all got onto the bridge, he mingled around with us and got back on board.”

A Ryanair spokesman said: "The crew of this flight from Palma to Manchester (04 Aug) requested police assistance ahead of take off after identifying a passenger that was not booked to travel on this flight.”
