Ryanair luggage rules: Irishwoman finds cheap Dealz item to 'get away with' not paying extra for bag

Now that most travel restrictions have eased, many Irish people are preparing to jet off on their first summer holiday in more than two years.

But with the cost of living crisis continuing, holidaymakers may be looking to cut costs on their trip wherever possible. One way to do so is by not paying extra for luggage.

One Irishwoman has shared an item she found in Dealz that could help keep bargain Ryanair flights as cheap as possible by avoiding the airline’s hand luggage fees.

Ryanair fliers can take one piece of carry-on luggage onto the plane free of charge, which must fit under the seat in front of them.

TikTok user ‘sam_an_tha_g’ was stunned to find a cheap bag in Dealz that is the “exact size” allowed to be brought onboard a Ryanair flight for free.

Priced at just €6, it costs a lot less than paying for cabin baggage and can be reused.

She claims the roomy bag could “fit loads in”.

She said: “Girls, don't walk, run to Dealz. Look at this. It's like the exact size that Ryanair allows you, and I'd say you could fit loads in there and get away without having a checked bag.

“It's literally an under the seat bag, it's got the perfect sizes for Ryanair. €6 in Dealz girls, run!"

Showing off the bag in the video, its label reads that it's an 'under seat cabin bag' and is sized 40cm x 20cm x 25cm.

According to Ryanair's website: "All passenger fare types include a small personal bag, which must fit under the seat in front of you. The maximum size of a small personal bag is 40x20x25cm."

The video has racked up almost 50,000 views so far.

Thousands of people have commented on the video, with many thanking the woman for sharing the hack.

“Thanks hun, seriously helped me out!” one person said.

Many others commented on the size of the bag and how much they could fit in, with another user writing: “Omg that’s huge.”

The woman claims to have bought the bag in Dealz Bray on June 24.
