Ryanair is starting new flights from Newcastle to Barcelona for anyone wanting a holiday in the Spanish city.
The flights will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, from Newcastle Airport from April 2023 as part of the airline's summer schedule. And travellers can make bookings now.
Announcing the schedule, Ryanair’s Dara Brady said: "Ryanair is pleased to be bringing even more choice and value to our customers in the UK with the addition of this new Barcelona route to our Summer ’23 schedule, offering our Newcastle customers and visitors even more choice for their summer holidays at the lowest fares in Europe.

"And for those looking to get away and soak up some sun with the family this summer, you can now spread out the cost of your holiday by paying half the fare now and the other half up to 40 days pre-departure when you book Ryanair’s Family Plus bundle, making family holidays more accessible for everyone.
"We look forward to welcoming customers onboard our flights to and from Barcelona this summer as Ryanair continues to deliver more traffic, connectivity, and lower fares than any other airline for the UK."
When ChronicleLive checked the Ryanair website, tickets during the Easter holidays were being offered for £138.27 one-way from Newcastle to Barcelona on April 6 and £61.37 on April 13. During the rest of April, outward flights were up for grabs for between £30 and around £91.
Return flights from Barcelona were being offered for between £44 and £120, depending on the day of travel during April. You can search for flights and book tickets here.
