Ryanair issues travel warning to people with November flights booked

People who have Ryanair flights booked in November have been issued an urgent warning by the budget airline.

Ryanair has revealed that its online check-in service will be offline temporarily, which could result in travellers getting hit with an unwanted fine before boarding their flight.

As reported by the Daily Record, the airline's website and app will be undergoing maintenance for a period of 11 hours between 6pm on November 8 and 5am on November 9.

Travellers have been warned to check in before the maintenance work begins if they are travelling during this period if they want to avoid a fine.

Ryanair issues fines of £55 to passengers who fail to check in online if their flight departs in two hours or less, or £30 for flights to Spain.

A statement on the airline's website reads: "Due to planned maintenance, Ryanair website / app will be temporarily down from 18.00hrs Tue, 8 – 05.00hrs Wed, 9 Nov.

"Customers who are due to fly during this 11-hour period should check-in online before 18.00hrs on Tue, 8 Nov."

This means holidaymakers could be left out of pocket before even boarding their flight. It follows the news that around 66 per cent of people in the UK admit they have been caught out by "financial blindspots" while abroad.

The survey, conducted by HSBC UK, revealed that approximately 10 per cent of participants have made purchases with GBP while overseas, which is more expensive than local currencies.

Additionally, around 60 per cent stated that they were hit with fees for cash withdrawals and debit card transactions last time they travelled out of the UK.

One in four Brits were also found to have gone over-budget by between £100-£300 on their holiday this year.
