Ryanair hailed for hilarious response to Irish passenger who complained about window seat

Ryanair had people in fits of laughter after their cheeky response to a disgruntled passenger went viral.

An Irish woman who recently flew with the budget airline took to Twitter to make a complaint about her seat on the aircraft.

Marta Kelly, 38, said she paid around €14 extra for a window seat on the flight from Warsaw to Malta for a short holiday with her husband after a business trip.

While she was irked that she didn’t get what she paid for, she was left giggling when she saw what she got for her money – a seat near the emergency exit, which featured a tiny window.

The window was hilariously small, and she said she couldn’t see through without making a great effort during the flight on September 10.

She jokingly complained to Ryanair about it on Twitter, sending a photo of the 'window' with the message: “I paid for the window seat.”

Amusingly, a member of the airline’s social media team wrote back with a copy of her photo, with a circle around the tiny “window.”

Mum Marta, a trader from Limerick, Ireland, said: “I loved the extra leg room don’t get me wrong. But thought it was a great opportunity to tweet at Ryanair because they always joke about window seat 11A that has no window at all.

“This was too funny to pass on. Love their marketing team and the banter they have.

“I like having a laugh and was hoping they will take it in good humour – they did. Still laughing at the commotion it caused."

Ryanair’s response to Marta’s ‘complaints’ received over 367,000 likes, while there were over 2,000 replies, some of them were not so fond of the joke, as one person said: “This is why I would never fly with Ryanair again.”

Others saw the light-hearted side of it adding: “What makes me lol here the most is clearly the joke was lost on all people commenting except for @Ryanair that has hired a marketing genius that loves banter! Legends."

A third said: "Not going to lie, this made me chuckle."
