Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport forced to divert from destination

A Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport was diverted this morning after a passenger fell ill.

The flight to Murcia in Spain took off as normal from Manchester at around 7.50am. But shortly after take-off, it had to be diverted to London Stansted.

A spokesperson for the airline said a passenger became ill onboard. They were met by medics for treatment at London Stansted.

The flight was 'delayed briefly'. In a statement, a Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from Manchester to Murcia (22 May) diverted to London Stansted when a passenger became ill on board.

The passenger disembarked and was met by medics for treatment before this flight continued to Murcia following a brief delay."
