Ryanair flight from Cork Airport delayed by almost three hours as man deported back to UK

A flight from Cork Airport was delayed for almost three hours as a man had to be deported back to the UK.

The Ryanair flight was scheduled to leave for London Stansted at 4:20pm on Tuesday but stayed grounded until 7:08pm that evening.

The man, who had flown in earlier that day, was due to be sent back as he did not have the correct paperwork.

However, the flight was delayed for nearly three hours while UK officials were making a decision on him.

It eventually took off without him, with the man then placed on a later flight to the UK, according to RTE.

Cork Airport issued this statement: "Ryanair flight FR909 to London Stansted, which was due to depart at 1620, departed Cork at 1908."

According to the Gardai, up to three people are deported from Cork Airport every day as a result of incorrect paperwork, Cork Beo reports.
