A flight had to divert to Manchester Airport this morning after taking off from Glasgow due to a medical emergency.
The Ryanair flight FR2522 - which was bound for Alicante - departed from the Scottish airport at 8.47pm but was diverted after being in the air for around 30 minutes, Glasgow Live reports. The flight route on flight tracking website Flightradar24 showed the plane turning round in the Shropshire area of England before heading north to Manchester Airport.
Ryanair said that the diversion was due to a passenger becoming ill on board. The passengers was met by medics after the plane landed and the flight continued on to Alicante shortly after.
