No-frills airline Ryanair has confirmed its biggest ever UK winter flights schedule with 21 new destinations added to its network of departure airports. It will operate 440 services, including various winter sun and city break options.
New destinations for winter 2022/23 include Asturias, Catania, Klagenfurt, Leipzig and Lapland, which will operate from London Stansted. Other new services featured are Liverpool-Rome; Newcastle to Barcelona and Cork; Bournemouth to Lanzarote and Venice; Edinburgh to Grenoble and Verona; Manchester to Klagenfurt, Podgorica and Turin; and flights between Birmingham and Billund, Grenoble, Santander, Stockholm, Toulouse and Venice.
Michael O’Leary, group chief executive, said: “Ryanair is one of the most reliable airlines as Heathrow continues to cap traffic, while BA cancels thousands of UK flights in its winter schedules due to staff shortages. This winter Ryanair is offering its UK customers lower fares and more certainty with their winter travel plans, as it operates a full schedule of over 3,000 daily flights with many new routes and unbeatable value for UK’s consumers and their families.”
Meanwhile Ryanair will add more than 500 flights to and from its main base at London Stansted Airport for the Autumn Mid-Term Break, providing an additional 100,000 low-fare seats to family destinations in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and France. Ryanair has added these extra seats in response to flight restrictions at Heathrow.
Mr O’Leary added: “While Heathrow continues to cut flights and raise fares for families, Ryanair and London Stansted continue to add flights, and offer thousands of low-fare seats for the autumn mid-term break. With 500 additional flights, more than 100,000 additional seats, and prices starting from just €29.99, Ryanair looks forward to welcoming thousands of additional families during the autumn mid-term break on its low-fare flights to/from London Stansted Airport."
