Ryan Tubridy says he could be “out of a job by Friday” as he opens up about still being paid by RTE while he is off-air.
The RTE star was taken off presenting duties on June 22 when payments that were given to him but were not publicly declared came to light.
RTE confirmed the former Late Late Show host continues to be paid while off the airwaves – but fears he could be out of a job by Friday.

Appearing before the Oireachtas Media Committee on Tuesday, Mr Tubridy was asked to confirm he is still being paid by the broadcaster, to which he replied: “Yes I am, yeah.”
Asked in relation to the verbal agreement in place by RTE, he was asked what the terms are. Mr Tubridy said: “As a presenter of the radio programme? I could be out of a job by Friday.”
On Monday, RTE’s new Director General Kevin Bakhurst said he couldn’t reveal what Mr Tubridy was still being paid.
"I can't tell you that as I don't think it's been agreed frankly, at the moment," said the 57-year-old. "There's still an ongoing discussion with his agent about the exact amount so I can't tell you the exact amount. But he is getting paid, yes."
Pressed again for the exact figures, the new Director General replied: "I have to get back to you on the detail of what is being paid and how. Because I genuinely don't know the detail of where that is, because that is being dealt with by the legal team."
