Ryan Tubridy drops Late Late Toy Show hint as throwback costume appears in studio

Ryan Tubridy has dropped another teaser for The Late Late Toy Show - including a creepy throwback to a previous year's main costume.

The biggest night on Irish television is just weeks away now with millions of us likely to tune in to the RTÉ spectacular which regularly tops the viewing charts at the end of the year.

It'll be Ryan's 14th time hosting, with a full audience set to be in the Donnybrook studios for the first time since 2019's Toy Show.

Ryan even gave us a throwback to that simpler time on his Instagram on Thursday morning.

"Do you know how weird my life is?" he asked his followers as he was walking down a flight of stairs in the RTE studios, which had at the bottom an Olaf head and body.

Peering out from behind the glass, Ryan noted that he was stuck in some "weird Olaf prison", with the host having worn the costume back in 2019's edition of the Toy Show.

He followed that up by explaining how he had to do some Toy Show prep - before dropping a teaser of a video of a giant screen somewhere in a studio which had been enhanced with a Christmas scene.

Grinning from ear to ear, Ryan noted: "So, this all got a little weird. I'll explain all another day!"

Earlier this week, the presenter explained just how much of his life the Toy Show takes over between preparation and then the actual festivities themselves

Speaking on his RTE Radio One show on Tuesday morning, he said: “Today is the 1st of November so if you are a friend or an associate of mine and you need me, i’ll see you in and around the 27th of December…I’m gone.

“I have.. every minute of every hour of every day every hour and every day is jammed. We were looking at the diary today and how we laughed

“Our heads were thrown back with laughter like the end of an old Tarzan cartoon.

“We had our hands on our hips and our heads were thrown back as we laughed, knowing that any gap in the diary has been filled.”

The Dubliner, 48, who is just back to work on the airwaves after a week off last week went on: “Even when I wasn’t here for a few days last week it was being filled by people with access to the diary.

“When I say the diary, it is literally a hard copy thing on the desk and people just fill it in, and say ‘I think we will just tell him to do this’...

“I am Pinocchio to their Geppetto and that is all it is. And I'm looking forward to it,” he added laughing.
