Ryan Tubridy has confirmed his next career move after wrapping up his final ever episode of the Late Late Show on RTE television last night.
Tubs has fronted the long-running chat show for 14 years but in an emotional airing, he took the hot seat one last time on Friday night as he signed off by dedicating the show to his family.
The RTE star, who turns 50 on Sunday, spoke about being excited for the future and going into the “unknown," RSVP Live reports.

Ryan opened up about what he is interested in doing next with his career.
“I would definitely be looking at the world of podcasts, and docs and history and books for sure,” he told The Irish Sun.
It is expected that he will cover a variety of topics, including his love of United States politics.
“Ryan has a huge interest in American politics and would have plenty to say to US listeners,” an insider told the publication.
Ryan was very emotional finishing last night when addressing the audience for the final time.
"I've dedicated the show tonight to my family,” he shared. “My mother can't be here tonight because she's recovering but I want to send her all my love. She was here one night in the audience and Michael Bublé was here, she loves Michael Bublé," he began.
"He was singing and there was 200 people in the audience and 199 people were looking at him I was looking at the audience thinking they are loving this. I looked back and all the faces were facing him, and it was my mother going 'you're doing great!'. That's what it's all about, family."
The dad-of-two became visibly emotional as he spoke of his daughters and talked about going into the “unknown”.
Ryan said: "When all is said and done. I want to say how much I admire her and appreciate her and my brothers and sisters but especially obviously my two girls.
"To Ella and Julia, you know this, I love you so much, they haven't created a word for it yet. They are the ones I dedicate this show to, they're my constant and I love them so much.
"I feel very happy. I feel I've made a really important decision in my life but it's absolutely the right one. I love what I did, and I can't wait for what I'm about to do. It's a little bit into the unknown. I've got a beautiful radio show that I enjoy doing. I'm leaving this show with a spring in my step rather than with a heavy heart.
"Everywhere I've been this week, there's been a lot of good will. I'm very heartfelt and very grateful.
“I find I love this country and I love Irish guests, music, local heroes who keep the fabric of the country together."
"The Toy Show has a very special place in my heart. I've had friends, I've made fun, it was the dream show, no doubt about it."
Signing off for the last time, Ryan left it at: "Tonight was a night of endings for sure, but also of beginnings. I want to say goodbye, and that I'm very grateful to the people I've worked with and continue to work with, they're amazing. And thanks to their families for sharing their loved ones with me here every Friday night.
"To the artists, singers, doers and dreamers who came in and became my friends."
He signed off by saying, "Mind yourselves and mind each other."
