Ryan Reynolds has revealed wife Blake Lively was not happy when he told her had bought Welsh football team Wrexham FC.
The Deadpool actor purchased the club with It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney – who he met via Instagram - in 2020.
But it seems he failed to discuss the £2 million purchase with his wife of 10 years beforehand.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with pal Rob on Tuesday night, the 45-year-old actor shared: “I remember saying to Blake I have bad news - and I have really bad news.”
He continued: “The bad news is I slipped into someone’s DMs again.
“The really bad news is I might have bought half of a fifth tier national football league in Wales.”

Asked what Gossip Girl star Blake’s reaction to the bombshell was, a sheepish Ryan said: “Not good Rob.”
He added: “We’re still working through that one.”
Ryan also revealed that neither he or Rob had actually met in person before they made the huge purchase.
The acting duo have since filmed a documentary about their experience called Welcome To Wrexham, which will drop on Disney+ in the UK on August 25.
Showing a clip of the moment the pair first met, Ryan gives Rob a hug as he jokes: “It’s so weird to see you without the Disney princess filter on your Zoom.”
The docuseries is expected to last for two seasons and will track the dreams of working class people in Wrexham, North Wales as the two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.
The fact they bought the club in the first place was a surprise to many - not least Ryan’s actress wife Blake.
Neither Ryan or Rob seemed to know much about football at the beginning – but now admit to being “obsessed”.
They were even mocked by pal David Beckham for celebrating a goal which was clearly offside.
But despite this the unlikely duo have changed Wrexham FC’s fortunes in the past year with more match wins, tickets sold and a social media following to rival much bigger clubs.
Ever since the takeover Wrexham have reached the Trophy final and are currently sitting third in the National League.
But their main ambition is to return the Dragons back to the English Football League after a 13-year absence.
Revealing why he bought the club, Ryan told This Morning ’s Alison Hammond: “It seemed like an interesting proposition.
“We were looking at a bunch of different teams and the thing for me that really struck a chord about Wrexham was how intrinsically tied communities are to their football club.
“It’s a more all-encompassing project with Wrexham – their supporters, their community, and taking them back into the English Football League.
“That is our goal and hope. We are super excited!”
