Ryan Reynolds reaction shows Wrexham mindset on back of ex-Man United ace Ben Foster's arrival

Wrexham owner and Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has praised the club's second choice goalkeeper Mark Howard for his selfless response to Ben Foster's arrival at the Racecourse Ground.

The former Manchester United man completed a move to the National League leaders last month. The 40-year-old has subsequently made two appearances.

Howard was the club's first choice keeper prior to being replaced by Rob Lainton, who subsequently suffered a knee injury. Howard could have expected to return to the side but Wrexham swooped for the former Manchester United man.

Foster came out of retirement for a second spell at Wrexham. And, speaking on his Yours Mine Away Podcast, Howard explained the moment he heard about Foster's return.

"I was walking into my daughter's school play and he (Phil Parkinson) has gone: 'I've got a chance of signing Ben Foster,'" said Howard. "And I said straight away, just instinct: 'Just do it - if it gets us over the line, do it.' He said: 'I don't want to upset you', and I was like: 'If it gets us over the line and we get promoted, [I] don't care."

Foster started against York City and Oldham Athletic in the National League as the Red Dragons won both matches handsomely. The former United man praised his team-mate's reaction while Reynolds was left blown away by Howard.

He tweeted: "This is heart and soul." Next up for Foster is a crucial Easter period which will see the leaders travel to FC Halifax Town on Good Friday before a huge title decider against second placed Notts County on Easter Monday.
