Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds showed his Welsh passion, saying "Bury me in Wales". It came after his team pulled off a stunning victory. Wrexham were 5-2 down at home to Dover in their National League clash on Saturday afternoon before staging an incredible comeback to win 6-5 courtesy of a 98th-minute winner from Daniel Jarvis.
And the Dragons' rollercoaster victory clearly ignited the passion of Hollywood star Reynolds, who co-owns the club with fellow actor Rob McElhenney. The Deadpool star tweeted after the final whistle showing he'd clearly been as stressed out about the game as fans in the stadium were, saying: "I just lost 9 years off my life. And I’m okay with that. Apologies to my family. Also, bury me in Wales."
Reynolds and McElhenney have captured Welsh hearts since announcing their unlikely takeover of Wrexham last February. They've since been spotted enjoying Wales on a number of occasions and have been vocal on social media about their passion for the club and its fans. Immediately after their takeover, the duo provided a cash injection towards on-field and off-field projects at the club. And if Reynolds' request to be buried on Welsh shores is any indication, the love is very much mutual.
