Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds revealed his fourth child with wife Blake Lively inspired his latest project.
The Canadian actor, 46, who married Gossip Girl actress Lively in 2012, referenced his fourth child - born earlier this year - when announcing his new series Bedtime Stories With Ryan on Thursday.
On Twitter, he wrote: "The idea for a show made to help everyone fall asleep was born the same day as my fourth child. I can't wait for you to watch Bedtime Stories, premiering June 20th on @MaximumEffort Channel on @fubotv."
Lively and Reynolds, who co-starred in 2011's Green Lantern, are already parents to daughters James, Inez and Betty. Reynolds did not confirm the sex of the new baby.
In February 2023, 35-year-old Lively revealed that she and Reynolds had quietly welcomed their fourth baby, posting on social media to say she had "been busy" alongside a baby emoji and a picture with Reynolds. A month later the whole family turned up in Wrexham to watch a game together, where Reynolds cradled the latest addition to their family on the Racecourse Ground pitch.
Reynolds' new series announcement included a quirky video of himself dressed in light brown and white pyjamas Preparing to read to a pair of animatronic sheep, he explained over a voiceover: "You know the best part about stories? You remember them. They stay with you. And I want to tell you a bedtime story". With a promise for it to be a "restful show" from "an anxious mind," Reynolds added in the caption of the post that "the idea for a show made to help everyone fall asleep was born the same day as my fourth child."
"We're so happy to create a program with the express goal of putting people to sleep. This show has actually been a dream of mine for a while," he said. "Storytime is a nighttime staple in our home and is a daily reminder of the power of storytelling."
"You know, two to three [kids] was a huge jump," the 46-year-old told ET Canada in April. "Three to four less so. I cannot speak for my wife, but it's just from what I've observed. But, we love it. You know, we would be idiots to do this again if we didn’t love it."
Reynolds was previously married to Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson, 38, from 2008 to 2011.
In recent years, Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney - the creator of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - have immersed themselves into Wrexham and Welsh culture since taking over the football club in February 2021. This season, they oversaw a double promotion, with Wrexham's men getting back into the English Football League for the first time in 15 years, while Wrexham Women were promoted to Wales' top domestic league.
