Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney give hilarious reactions to dramatic Wrexham win

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney both provided hilarious reactions following Wrexham's thrilling 4-3 victory over Aldershot Town.

Hollywood superstar Reynolds and Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator McElhenney witnessed Wrexham concede in the 89th minute to potentially throw away a much-needed three points in the National League before their club scored with one of the last kicks of the game to seal the win against Aldershot.

Wrexham were up 3-2 at half-time thanks to Paul Mullin scoring a hat-trick in just 28 minutes with home side Aldershot scoring two to pull themselves back in.

With just moments to go in normal time, defender Jordan Tunnicliffe inadvertently put the ball into the back of his own net as Wrexham hearts sunk.

But in the dying seconds, substitute Sam Dalby scored the winning goal to just about keep them in the pole position to finish top of the National League in their tightly-fought race with Notts County.

Wrexham will be 20 points ahead of the third-placed team in the league if the Welsh outfit win their games in hand, with the title race with Notts County set to go down to the wire for the one automatic promotion spot.

And both owners gave their reaction after the last-gasp winner. McElhenney tweeted: "I very may well die of a cardiac event this season. Football is magic/hell."

While Reynolds tweeted: "Really testing the limits of appropriate drinking hours. Dear god, Wrexham AFC."

The pair purchased ownership of the club two years ago, with plans to guide them out of the National League and turn them into a sustainable EFL club.

McElhenney and Reynolds have quickly come much-loved figures in the city, making numerous trips this season, which is being documented on Disney Plus' Welcome to Wrexham.

The National League team are having an incredible season, recently holding Sheffield United to a draw in the FA Cup at the Racecourse Ground, before losing in the return leg.

Notts County meanwhile, continue their winning ways and are currently in top spot in the league, but have played two games more than Wrexham with the Welsh team being five points behind.

Wrexham will host Scunthorpe United on Tuesday, who have been boosted by a new takeover recently and have signed nine players in what could be a tricky outing, while County face Southend United at home.
