Ryan Reynolds Advocates For Wesley Snipes' Return As Blade

Ryan Reynolds right

Actor Ryan Reynolds has expressed his desire for Wesley Snipes to receive more screen time as the iconic character Blade in the Marvel universe. Reynolds shared on Instagram the enthusiastic reaction from fans when Snipes made a cameo appearance in the film Deadpool & Wolverine, emphasizing the impact of Snipes' legacy on the audience.

Reynolds advocated for a potential fourth Blade film, suggesting a send-off similar to the acclaimed movie Logan, which marked Hugh Jackman's final portrayal of Wolverine. Fans echoed Reynolds' sentiments, expressing excitement for the prospect of Snipes reprising his role as Blade in a new movie.

Snipes originally portrayed Blade in a trilogy of films released in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His unexpected appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine surprised many, especially after Marvel Studios announced that Mahershala Ali would take over the role for an upcoming Blade movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film Deadpool & Wolverine, which featured characters from Fox's Marvel properties following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. In addition to Snipes and Reynolds, the movie included cameos from various Marvel characters portrayed by actors such as Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, and Channing Tatum.

Some fans have even launched a petition advocating for Snipes to return as Blade instead of Ali. Snipes responded to the fan campaign with amusement, highlighting the passionate support for his portrayal of the character.

Reynolds' call for more Blade content has sparked discussions among fans about the future of the character in the Marvel universe. With the success of Deadpool & Wolverine and the enduring popularity of Blade, the possibility of Snipes reprising his role in a standalone Blade film has generated significant interest among audiences.
