Ryan Porteous set to hand Hibs a huge Scottish Cup boost as defender available for Hearts clash

Hibs will be bolstered by the return of centre-back Ryan Porteous who is available for Saturday's Edinburgh derby Scottish Cup semi-final.

The defender is currently serving a four-match ban after being sent off against Aberdeen last month.

However, the 23-year-old is eligible to play this coming Saturday as the suspension also applies to league matches.

Shaun Maloney will no doubt need his strongest squad and a top class performance to knock Hearts out of the cup.

The Jambos won last weekend's Edinburgh derby 3-1, so Hibs will be hoping to hit back.

The Hearts game saw a return for Matt Macey, who is once again available for selection ahead of the cup clash.

The Hibees may have to tackle the tie without Drey Wright.

The winger limped off the pitch on Saturday and will be assessed ahead of this weekend's fixture along with Paul McGinn, Darren McGregor and Christian Doidge who are all in doubt.

Kyle Magennis, Demetri Mitchell and Kevin Nisbet will be missing from Maloney's squad as their injuries ended their 2021/22 campaign early.

The huge semi final clash kicks off at Hampden Park at 12.15pm this Saturday - April 16.
