Hibs have not been approached by Rangers about Ryan Porteous as he heads into the final six months of his contract at Easter Road.
The 23-year-old defender is expected to leave the capital club next month, having turned down the offer of a new, improved deal. Boss Lee Johnson has already said that the club wants to try to cash in in the Scotland international who has attracted interest from south of the border in England's second tier.
It would be Hibs' preference that the stopper moves away from Scotland rather than switching to a rival club either in the winter window or at the end of the season when he would be a free agent and able to put pen to paper with any club.

However, former Hibs boss Jim Duffy reckons there is serious interest from the Ibrox club. He was asked on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard about a potential move to Celtic and said: "Not to throw cold water on [that] suggestion because I agree with it, but I have heard that there is a little bit of a suggestion that he could be going across the road to their greatest rivals. So, I have heard that, whether there's that much in it, but that's something that's in the air."
The Times are reporting that Hibs have not had any contact from Rangers - who they come up against next midweek - although they anticipate offers to start to materialise in he coming weeks.
Hibs restart the Premiership campaign at Ibrox on December 15 in what will be Michael Beale's first game in charge after replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox.
The capital club go into the clash sitting eighth in the Premiership standings after a poor pre-World Cup shutdown run of form.
They trail Aberdeen in third by five points - having played one game more than Jim Goodwin's men.
