Lee Johnson has admitted he would ideally like two more summer recruits as he opened up on Ryan Porteous' contract situation.
The Hibs defender is entering the final 12 months of his current deal at Easter Road and has attracted transfer interest in the past. The stopper, who featured 40 times in all competitions last term, has established himself as a key man in the heart of the defence and his boss recently hailed him as the 'closest to an old-school leader'.
A new contract has been put to the 23-year-old with Johnson hopeful he will put pen to paper on extended terms but as things stand he hasn't signed the deal on the table. The former Sunderland gaffer has also been busy recruiting as he bids to put his own stamp on the Hibees. The likes of David Marshall, Aiden McGeady and Jair Tavares have all arrived as part of a big summer rebuild and while the new boss is happy with what he has in the door, he would always like to add a couple more bodies.

He told Sky Sports: "I think I would be happy to go in with what we have got.
"Ideally I would like two more. If it was one, and it was the right position that would be ok.
"Every squad has moving parts to it. Ryan [Porteous] is a great player and we would love to keep him.
"At the same time it is his prerogative in terms of that contract offer.
"At the moment he hasn't signed it but we are ever hopeful."
