Ryan Porteous' exit from Hibernian could mean a move to Rangers is a possibility.
The defender is high on the agenda of a few clubs after it was revealed he will not sign a new deal with Lee Johnson's men, with the likes of Stoke City and Sheffield United tracking the Scotland cap. Porteous has been touted by many for big move after a successful spell at Easter Road, with the 24-year-old able to pen a pre-contract deal as early as next month, much to the dismay of the Easter Road hierarchy who are hoping to cash in.
And fellow Scottish Premiership side Rangers could be his next club, with Michael Beale perhaps looking to bolster his backline with injury concerns across the board. This comes from former Hibees and current Clyde gaffer Jim Duffy who revealed he has heard chatter about the young defender swapping Edinburgh for Glasgow.

He said on Superscoreboard : “Not to throw cold water on Davie’s suggestion (Porteous joining Celtic) because I agree with it, but I have heard that there is a little bit of a suggestion that he may be going across the road to their greatest rivals. So, I have heard that, whether there’s that much in it but that’s something that’s in the air on the football grapevine should we say.”
Johnson spoke of his transfer plans in Leith for the upcoming window, and revealed Hibs must downsize their 'over-inflated' squad as he slammed fringe players for not doing enough to make the first team. He said: "The first thing we need to do is trim the squad. We’ve far too many players at the club and far too many I don’t see as infiltrating the first team over the short to medium term. It can cause problems when you have an over-inflated squad because people want to play.”
