Ryan Mason has confirmed that Cristian Romero will not be available for Tottenham's final Premier League game of the season against Leeds United. The Argentina international was missing for last weekend's 3-1 defeat against Brentford having sustained an issue early on in their previous game at Aston Villa.
Romero wasn't the only Spurs player to miss out against the Bees, however, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was also absent from the squad through injury. Whereas Romero will not feature at Elland Road, there is a chance that the Dane could be included in the matchday party as he was involved in training at Hotspur Way on Thursday.
"Cristian no, he's got an injury and out," said Mason when speaking at his pre-match press conference. "Pierre trained yesterday so we're hopeful that maybe he can help us at the weekend."

Romero's absence will leave Tottenham with limited numbers at the back as it was confirmed on Wednesday evening that Eric Dier will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his groin. football.london understands that the centre-back has been trying to play with the problem for months but it has now got too bad to play through, thus seeing him go under the knife rather than featuring in the final game at Leeds United.
Dier is expected to be fit for the start of pre-season in July. When pressed on Dier's return from summer training, Mason said: "I think so - the hope and expectation is that will be the case, and I guess that's why the operation took place so quickly."
